ReviewLab — Cookie Policy
Effective date: 29 October 2025
Scope: This Policy applies to websites we operate that link to it (e.g., reviewlab.pro and its subdomains) and to ReviewLab widgets embedded on third-party sites (together, the "Services").
1) What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small files stored on your device by your browser. We also use similar technologies (e.g., pixels, local storage). They help operate the Services, remember choices, measure performance, and—where you consent—support analytics and marketing. Some cookies last only for a session; others are persistent.
2) How we use cookies (categories)
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Strictly necessary – essential for core features (security, load balancing, session management).
- Preferences & functionality – remembering settings (e.g., language, UI choices).
- Research, performance & analytics – understanding usage to improve our Services.
- Advertising (our sites only) – showing/ measuring ReviewLab ads and effectiveness on and off our sites (never inside customer widgets).
3) Cookies on customer sites and widgets
- Our widgets. ReviewLab widgets are designed to minimize cookies. They may set strictly necessary cookies (e.g., abuse prevention, widget preferences, caching). We do not place advertising cookies or cross-site tracking via widgets.
- Customer-controlled tools. Site owners may add their own scripts (e.g., analytics, pixels) on their sites; those are not controlled by ReviewLab and are governed by the site owner's policies.
4) First-party vs third-party cookies
Cookies we set are first-party; cookies set by others (e.g., analytics/ad partners) are third-party. Third parties may recognize your device across sites. Their use is governed by their own policies.
5) Your choices
- Consent banner / Cookie Settings. On our sites you can accept, reject, or manage non-essential cookies via the banner or the "Cookie Settings" link. You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. Strictly necessary cookies are essential to operate the Services and cannot be turned off in our tool (you can still block them in your browser).
- Browser controls. You can block/delete cookies in your browser; some features may not work correctly after that.
- Advertising/analytics opt-outs. You may use industry tools (e.g., DAA/NAI/EDAA) and, for Google Analytics, the official opt-out add-on.
- Signals. We honor recognized opt-out signals where required by law (e.g., Global Privacy Control). We do not respond to legacy "Do Not Track".
6) Legal bases and retention
Legal bases. Under GDPR/ePrivacy, we set strictly necessary cookies based on legitimate interests and set non-essential cookies only with your consent.
Retention. Session cookies expire when you close your browser; persistent cookies typically last from a few days up to 24 months.
International transfers. Some providers may process cookie-related data outside the EEA/UK/CH. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards. See our Privacy Policy for details.
7) Changes
We may update this Policy to reflect changes to cookies, providers, or laws. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice.
